We are making a game too

Our first game is on its way, and we are cutting its trailer with the exact package on this page: the Steam trailer and its vertical cut. It drops here soon.

Your trailer is your store page's first impression

Players scroll past a capsule in a second. The trailer is what turns a curious click into a wishlist or an install, and every store has its own rules for it.

Gameplay

first, always

Steam's own guidance: show what the player will actually be doing

Muted

Stores autoplay without sound, so the hook has to read visually

30 seconds

The App Store maximum and the Meta Horizon Store minimum

Horizontal for stores, vertical for TikTok, Shorts, and Reels

Store Requirements

Exported to spec for every store

You get a file per store that passes review the first time. No guessing at bitrates or getting bounced for a trailer that is two seconds too short.

Store Format Length The rule that matters Technical
Steam 16:9, up to 1920x1080 No fixed limit, 30s keeps attention Valve recommends the first trailer be primarily gameplay 30 or 60 fps, 5,000+ kbps, MP4 or MOV
Meta Horizon Store 16:9, 1080p min, 2K max 30 seconds to 2 minutes Trailer shorter than 30s is rejected MP4, H.264 video, AAC audio
App Store Your game's orientation 15 to 30 seconds Real in-game footage only, autoplays muted Up to 30 fps, H.264 or HEVC, up to 3 previews
Google Play YouTube link Autoplays muted up to 30s Public or unlisted, ads and monetization off We deliver the upload-ready master
How We Cut It

Built to get wishlists,
not just look nice

A hook in the first seconds

A slow logo intro is where most viewers leave.

We open on your strongest gameplay moment, so the first frames answer the question every player has: what do I do in this game?

Gameplay, not promises

Players feel cheated when the trailer is not the game.

Real footage from the player's perspective, edited for rhythm. An honest trailer sets the right expectations from the start.

Readable with the sound off

Autoplay is muted on every store.

Short, bold text cards carry the pitch: genre, core mechanic, the thing that makes your game different.

Cut to the music

Footage laid over a random track feels like a montage.

Every cut lands on the beat of your soundtrack or a licensed track, with sound design so actions hit hard.

An end card that asks

A great trailer that ends on a fade wastes the moment.

Logo, release window, and a clear call to action: Wishlist on Steam, Download on the App Store, or Get it on Google Play.

A vertical cut, re-framed

A horizontal trailer with black bars dies on TikTok.

We re-frame and re-pace the trailer for 9:16, so it works as a Short, a Reel, or a portrait App Store preview.

How It Works

From raw capture to store-ready trailer

  1. 1

    Tell us about your game

Genre, the hook, your target store, and your deadline (Steam Next Fest, demo launch, release date).

  2. 2

    Send gameplay footage

15 to 30 minutes of raw capture at 1080p or higher, plus your logo, key art, and soundtrack. Or send a build and we capture it.

  3. 3

    First cut

Around 7 business days later you review the horizontal trailer on Frame.io, with comments right on the timeline.

  4. 4

    Revisions and vertical cut

Two rounds of changes, then we build the 9:16 version from the approved edit.

  5. 5

    Delivery

One export per store, ready to upload: Steam, Meta Horizon Store, App Store, Google Play, and social.

Pricing

One package, one price

Everything an indie game needs for its store pages, at a flat rate.

Game trailer FAQ

How much does a game trailer cost?

Our Steam trailer package is $590 flat: a 30-second horizontal gameplay trailer plus a 30-second vertical cut, exported for Steam, Meta Horizon Store, the App Store, and Google Play. For reference, cheap marketplace gigs start around $30 to $100 with very uneven results, and studio gameplay trailers usually run from $7,000 up.

Why a 30-second trailer?

Because 30 seconds works in every store. It is the maximum for an App Store preview, the minimum for a Meta Horizon Store trailer, and about how long Google Play autoplays your video. On Steam, most visitors decide in the first few seconds anyway, so a tight 30 seconds of gameplay beats a slow two-minute trailer.

Do I need to send you gameplay footage?

Yes, raw gameplay capture is the main ingredient. Record at 1080p or higher, at 60 fps if your game runs at 60, ideally with a clean version without the HUD. Send more than you think we need: 15 to 30 minutes of varied play is perfect. If you would rather not capture it yourself, send us a build and we record it for an extra fee.

What should the first trailer on my Steam page be?

Gameplay. Valve's own Steamworks guidance recommends that the first trailer on your store page is primarily gameplay, shown from the perspective the player will actually have. That is exactly what this package is built for: no long logo intros, no cinematic you cannot back up, real gameplay from the first second.

Does the trailer work for Meta Quest and mobile games too?

Yes. The Meta Horizon Store asks for a 16:9 trailer between 30 seconds and 2 minutes at 1080p to 2K, which our horizontal cut meets. For the App Store we export a version that follows Apple's preview rules (15 to 30 seconds, real in-game footage, your game's orientation, up to 30 fps). For Google Play we deliver a file ready to upload to YouTube, since Play uses a YouTube link.

What is the vertical version for?

TikTok, YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels, and portrait mobile games on the App Store. Most indie games get discovered on short-form video now, so the vertical cut is often the one that brings people to your Steam page. It is reframed and re-paced for 9:16, not just the horizontal trailer with black bars.

Where does the music come from?

Your soundtrack if you have one, which is usually the best choice because it sells the mood of the game. If not, we use properly licensed music, cleared for store pages, YouTube, and social media.

How long does it take?

Around 7 business days from receiving your footage to the first cut, plus revisions. If you are aiming for Steam Next Fest or a launch date, tell us the deadline up front and we will plan around it.
