Stop Drowning in Raw Footage
We turn hours of raw footage into a structured, story-driven timeline so you can focus on the polishing.
You shoot. We build the story.
The rough cut is where chaos becomes content. Here's who benefits most.
YouTubers
You have 3 hours of talking-head footage and no idea where to start the edit.
Agencies
Client shoot is done but your editors are maxed out. You need a clean assembly to review ASAP.
Podcasters
Long-form video podcast needs its best moments identified and structured before repurposing.
Brands
Product launch footage needs a first cut before the creative team takes it to final.
From raw files to review-ready cut
Five steps we follow on every rough cut project, every time.
Upload your footage
Share via Google Drive, Dropbox, Frame.io, or WeTransfer. Include your script, shot list, or any notes about intended structure.
We review the brief
We study your reference, understand the narrative goal, and log all the footage before making a single cut.
Build the assembly
Best takes selected, clips arranged in sequence, rough transitions placed. Story arc locked in: beginning, middle, end.
You review
We deliver the rough cut via a private Frame.io link. You leave timestamped comments directly on the video.
Move to final polish
Once you approve the structure, we (or your own editor) apply the final color, audio, graphics, and effects.
What the rough cut includes
- Best take selection from all footage
- Clean narrative structure (beginning / middle / end)
- Basic transitions between scenes
- Rough pacing with natural breathing room
- Placeholder title cards where graphics will go
- Flagged problem areas with notes
- Frame.io review link with commenting enabled

Common questions about rough cut editing
What if I don't have a script?
No problem. If you have notes, a bullet-point outline, or even just a verbal description of what the video should achieve, we can work with that. For interview footage, we structure around the narrative naturally.
Can you deliver directly into my editing timeline?
Yes. We deliver the native project file (Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or Final Cut Pro) so you or your editor can take over from the exact point we left off. No need to re-import or relink anything.
Can you do the final edit too?
Yes. The rough cut service can be combined with our full editing service for a complete end-to-end workflow. Just mention it when you get in touch.
How do I upload large files?
We recommend Google Drive, Dropbox, or Frame.io for files up to a few GB. For very large raw files (100GB+), we can arrange an alternative transfer method.
How does the retainer minute rollover work?
Any unused minutes from your monthly allocation roll over to the following month for up to 30 days. After that they expire. It's designed for creators with slightly variable output month to month, not as a long-term bank.
